MY HOLIDAY IN CANTABRIA II

This second part of my vacation, I will devote to Santarder and Suances , and I must leave the caves of Altamira, the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liebana, Santoña , San Vicente de la Barquera and elsewhere, for a third post, because there are too many photos to put in one post. If you already said the saying, "no two without three" good and speaking of sayings hope it does not meet the "sequels are never good." Well sayings aside, Let's go!

SANTANDER

I loved Santander, its people, beaches, buildings, everything. We visited well above the city, because that day was such a good time, we spent most of the day in Playa del Sardinero , from which, at the back could see the Magdalena Peninsula Which, we would visit later. Both the Magdalena Peninsula, as the Palace are a wonderful place, and you can see how beautiful it is, I have scanned one of the postcards I bought, which has an aerial view of the area beautiful baby.

Postal the Magdalena Peninsula

To visit the Peninsula, we use the Magdaleno, a tourist train that took us travel throughout the peninsula and also with explanations of each of the places in the Peninsula and its history.

Tourist Train Magdaleno

Taking pictures from the train was a little tricky, especially when I had to take the pictures side is covered, as in most of the photos came out reflected but still I managed all this.

Palacio de la Magdalena from train

This Royal Palace was built between 1909 and 1911 by popular subscription, to house the English royal family. From 1913 to 1930, was the summer residence of King Alfonso XIII and Victoria Eugenia. Currently houses the courses Menendez Pelayo International University . I have searched the internet for a better picture of the palace, since you took from the train, the Palace is not appreciated in all its fullness.

Once past the palace, began to descend until the end of the trail, leaving us next three ships, a raft and a small zoo .

The three ships were used by the navigator Cantabrian Vital Alsar , to commemorate the journey of Francisco de Orellana , and later donate to Santarder. We continued walking, our visit to the peninsula of Magdalena, and a little later we found a small free zoo, home to sea lions , penguins and seals .

Here ended our visit to the Peninsula de la Magdalena, now we was a steep hill to climb to get to our car. And then, about 30 minutes to get to our hotel in Suances.

SUANCES

I already had told you in my previous post, our hotel was in Suances. We chose this town, in addition to its attractive, for its privileged location . Since being in the center of the Cantabrian coast, allows us to be in very little time in any part of it.

Brochure Suances Tourist Office

In this photo you have then click where it says if you make hotel, you can access a page that informs you of its facilities and prices, if you ever want to visit this area, the hotel was really great, and their situation was very good because we had so much the center of the town and its beaches at your doorstep, and from our terrace We had an incredible view of the estuary San Martín de la Arena .

In Suances we find beautiful places, I remember the first day we arrived, after leaving the luggage at the hotel, visit the whole village. First we went to the Punta del Blessed , there we visited the Lighthouse and photograph the cliffs of the Playa de Los Locos , the landscape itself is extremely impressive, vertiginous cliffs.

Then around the corner, I could not resist photographing from the car, this castle is now a hotel.

Hotel "The Castle"

This hotel was situated on the beach "Los Locos" , before becoming a hotel, was a real stone castle, the Baron of Peramola whim.

I'd like to show more pictures, but in most Suances, we or my boyfriend or me, and I like to put personal photos, so for those who wish to see more pictures of Suances, I recommend you visit these pages Suances Net and Young Cantabria. I hope you enjoy this second part, as well as the first, and you happen to be the same with the next.
