My name is Laura Kreitzer , and I am the author of Timeless Series and Summer Chronicles. This week I would like to alert everyone of a great crisis is going unnoticed in the world: human trafficking. That's why I asked hundreds of blogs to get involved spreading the word on this matter has come to my heart.

As an author, and someone whose life is thrown into the spotlight, keep most people away. Only a handful of my friends know me completely and events from my past. But this week I'd like to share a part of me that sees the outside world (and part of me that I do not like sharing). I was emotionally abused for five years by someone who I thought loved her, my mind was defeated by submission. Although the confusion that I had not penetrate as deep as someone who is forced into slavery in the market for human trafficking, I can sadly relate in certain ways: imprisonment, imposed on my life what he wore, ate, where he went, who spoke, where he worked, when asleep, leaning against each of their quirks. Not changed mind, even when I cried for one of the most traumatic things that I had done. I was a slave in my own home. In my desperation for freedom, I had a gun and asked him to end my suffering. I was desperate.

I can not imagine how many women (and men) in the world are in similar situations. Worse, I have compared with children who are sold for labor or sex. Surprisingly, Good ol 'USA reported to be host to two million slaves. Did you know? Because I accurately not, not until I was preparing to write my new novel, Phantom Universe. The main character, Summer Waverly, was abducted as a child and sold into slavery to the captain of a modern day pirate ship. On behalf of a girl who was loved only knew the "Tiep-out" as punishment, to be launched with force to silence was something I knew nothing. So, I looked deeply about the traffic and the psychological effects of torture of various types that one would suffer in these circumstances. I was shocked by what I found and knew I had to tell the story Summer. ( Read a preview here. )

A storm began to be developed in my mind, turning, shaping, repairing, and expanding within this massive black cloud. He had to bring this tragic atrocity to the fore. My own emotional experiences, mixed with the search I did on human trafficking, made me feel a strong connection with Summer and all women who have gone through this kind of brutality. The cloud opened up and rained on my computer one day. I took a month to write Phantom Universe, the first Summer Chronicles. I was so consumed by the story I wrote almost without stopping, stopping only for necessary tasks like eating, bathing, and occasionally, very occasionally, sleep.

Although the book I wrote would be classified as science fiction, or as I like to call it, Dystopia, emotions and psychological aspects are not science fiction, are real. Reviewrs have said many great things about Summer, this character is real in my mind, and whom I cried as the words left my soul to the screen.

"I admired the power of Summer and its ability to adapt," CiCi's Theories said . "I felt attached to their emotions," Jennifer Murgia, author of Angel Star admits. And Tahlia Newland, author of Lethal Inheritance, remarks, "Summer is strong and intelligent mind [...]"

Through its immensely horrible last Summer through more than just a physical journey Phantom Universe, she goes through a psychological one as well, growing beyond its been moved to persevere and survive in a new world beyond what she is so scared.

Now that the day Publication is here, I'm excited and terrified for sharing this story with everyone. I am emotionally attached to all forms of the words I've written, because they are more than words. More than just a story on a page. Beyond the fictional aspects, there is a real issue that needs to be reached: Human trafficking has to stop. We should not sit with folded arms while this continues to plague us. The children of our world-our nation's -are affected. It's time to act!
