MUNCH WHY CRY?

El Grito (1895), originally called Despair , is the most known and famous Edvard Munch .

Considered one of the most representative paintings of expressionism, their interpretations have been many and varied . While some believe that the picture represents the Edvard own anguish over the tragedy of the death of their relatives, others believe it is a critique of the socio-economic model at the time.

One day in 1883, Munch, described it this way in his diary, which could be the circumstances that led him to create this work, of which there are 50 variants: "I was walking with two friends. Then the sun set. At the moment the whole sky was blood red and a deep depression overtook me. I stood and I sat by the roadside, I felt very tired, clouds like blood and tongues of fire fell on the city and fjord blue and black. My friends kept walking and I stood alone, trembling with anxiety. I felt like a huge endless scream passing through nature'' .

After analyzing several paragraphs from the diary of Munch, and topographic data to study many times, it was apparently concluded that he had inspired to create Edvard Munch The Scream, was the eruption of Krakatoa (Indonesia), August 27, 1883. Since the explosion was heard 4500 miles away, and the gases expelled volcano sunsets were red for a long time, which came to be in Europe.

However, not only be inspired by this natural phenomenon, as it became known that the backdrop , was the city of Oslo , from the Ekeberg Hill, and that a mummy in Peru , which is discussed in Musée de l'Homme in Paris would figure that would inspire the author to the forefront.

never discover the real reasons that led to Munch painting as enigmatic picture, but maybe that is the reason that brings us to each of us, creating our own inspiration.

DECIDE HOW THE NAME OF YOUR BLOG?

week, Montse, blog Borboleta Purple, received another Thinking Blogger Award, Congratulations beautiful!, and since I had recently nominated, he decided to re-nominate but a MEME The original Sea, in which all those who had been nominated (thank you very much again for thinking of me, has been a detail) we respond to the question, How did you decide the name of your blog ? And here is my answer ...

long time that my head was about the idea of \u200b\u200bcreating a Web page about legends, travel, rare items, astronomy, archeology, let a little of everything that I like. But my boyfriend advised me that it was better to make a blog, it is also free. Well, the idea was already underway, I started looking online pages of posts and the format that I liked was the Blogger. So far only was it a name, but ... What?

At first I wanted to Iris, but it was used, so I tried Iris's blog, and also the world's mysteries, urban legends, mysterious world ... all were already in use. And what happened?, It was time for dinner. We continue to believe, but we could not think any name that was original and not already in use. When we were having dinner, I asked him to go from the refrigerator a can of Coca-Cola. We usually buy a couple of cans of normal Coke for him, and no caffeine for me (well, light and without caffeine, lemon, depending on the time) because my caffeine affects me much, I get very nervous, and Of course, if I drink a lot do not sleep.

Well, I like not always specified that he wanted without caffeine, because as is usually the soil that take, and I always wore. But tonight, call it coincidence or chance, I had brought a normal total I told her I wanted without caffeine, which then could not sleep, and there began the joke that was a watered down, that if he wanted without caffeine, ... finally struck us we liked the name and that of caffeine-free. At first I wanted to decaffeinated ideas, and I think that was free of those, but it ended without caffeine simply because it seemed shorter and more original, and use it to watered-down as a subtitle, to which add, for decaffeinated minds.

So was, as we came up with the name of this blog.

As I told in Monty's blog, which gave me most angry was to see that many of the names I wanted to put the blog had already been utilized, with only one entrance, and were not used again for years. A shame, but hey, if it were not so today would not have my WITHOUT CAFFEINE. Well, now tell me, how did you decide on your own?

Will Eczema Disqualify Me From The Military

THE CITY OF VIENNA

Q ant start by explaining the reason for my visit to Ponferrada . Well, this summer I have been on holiday in Cantabria (I'll do a post about this cute way), and there I visited Comillas, a beautiful seaside town, where I met a wonderful work the incredible Gaudí, El Capricho . So I was eager to see more of his works, and I remembered Episcopal Palace of Astorga was his work too, so, Ponferrada would be ideal to celebrate my birthday, they could visit Ponferrada, Astorga and Médulas . The problem is that in winter is very cold, the days are shorter and the weather is quite enough, so in the end we could not visit Astorga, but left for another visit, as the Bierzo area in general is so pretty I'm already looking forward to visiting again.

El Capricho. Gaudí

We arrived Friday night to Ponferrada (its name comes from "an iron settings" iron bridge, as a Bishop of Astorga called Osmundo, he built a bridge reinforced with iron for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago could cross the River Sil, which passes through Ponferrada). It was cold that you can not imagine. We dined in the city center and then went for a stroll through its streets, which were full of beautiful Christmas decorations.

A place for a drink

On Saturday, after dinner, we went to Médulas , old gold mining, belonging to the Roman Empire, and declared by UNESCO " Heritage " in December 1997 . I recommend watching these two pages in order to appreciate this wonderful place, Médulas and Tourism Bierzo. On the way, we have a cold that was not normal for four in the afternoon.

Awesome ice

We're almost

On reaching the village, trying to climb to the mine itself, but between he had to walk 1.8 km (as though in many websites that could put us go by car, once we reached the village, a sign over a car prevented non-residents), including cold it was and that when we arrived and would be dark, we decided not to upload, and visit the Archaeological Hall
Médulas and the village itself.

Médulas

In Archaeological Hall we have a large model of the whole area, with educational signs about mining Roman, Roman settlements, recreation Scenes of everyday life, reproductions of equipment used by the Romans, a room that was used for the projection of videos. In short, a whole life told us that the Romans had been there at that time, and the complicated process of extracting gold.

Now we come to the village of Carucedo , whose lake, was caused as a result Roman gold exploitation.

is now starting to get dark, so we returned back to Ponferrada, intending to visit Castillo Templar.

Templar castle

Castle of the Templars

This castle is located on a former pre-roman castro, after would be a Roman citadel, which in S. XI, would be rebuilt and fortified. In 1178, Alfonso IX, gives the town of Ponferrada to Knights Templar, with the mission to protect pilgrims on their way Santiago de Compostela. The castle was built in the S. XI, and was owned by the Templars until they disbanded in 1312, from the Castle to the Crown of Leon, and later to the Catholic Kings.

But during the French occupation in 1811, was ordered destroyed to prevent it from falling into their hands. But this was not the only misfortune he suffered this castle, then in 1850 the City sold its walls and used its stones, also leases the pasture area inside and even allows excavation to locate a football field. But fortunately in 1924 is granted the rank of National Monument, which causes all these atrocities do not continue.

Well, as I said, our intention was to visit, but had closed at six, so until Sunday, we could not go inside. But since we were there, I take out all these pictures outside, and visit other landmarks near this.

At the foot of this beautiful castle we find the Church of San Andrés (S. XVII) , inside which is the Christ Fortress, which was moved there, from the Castle Chapel.

We enter a little more and came to the Plaza de la Virgen de la Encina , Where we can see two great wonders, the Basilica de la Encina and Relo Tower j .

View from the Plaza de La Torre del Reloj

The Clock Tower, located on Calle del Reloj, was built under the mandate of Charles I, to the right of this clock is the old prison, now converted into the Museo del Bierzo . And to his left is the Convent Mother's Conception .

Across the square is the Basilica de la Encina , inside which houses the patron saint of the City, Virgen de la Encina . Legend
who had been brought from the Holy Land for the Santo Toribio, Bishop of Astorga, and the Knights Templars, they found the statue of the Virgin in the hole an oak, which had been hidden to protect against invasions of the Muslims, adopting the nickname of the tree that had been found. La Virgen de la Encina, is one of the few Black Madonnas exists, and is also known as "La Morena ."

also highlight the Museum Radio, sponsored by Luis del Olmo.

came the dinner, so we got on the way to Centro Comercial El Rosal , whose name reminded me to another shopping center is in La Coruña, Los Rosales. The mall was recently opened near, and is pretty nice to tease, I was a little freaked out, because Lugo is the provincial capital has a mall As Spa is the largest in Galicia, but that was far from Ponferrada larger, and that it is not Ponferrada provincial capital, and has a population of about 66,000 inhabitants, in short, I've been delighted, the center is beautiful.

On Sunday we did more than visit the Castle, and return back to Lugo, a year more to my back, and with a mad desire to return to visit this beautiful area. But next time try to be summer, the days are longer, and make better time, as caught a cold, beautiful, beautiful!
